Say Hi
Howdy! My name is Cassie Mueller and I am the eye & mind behind the camera at Coll Street Photography. I LOVE what I do: helping women to celebrate a time that is usually remembered by nausea, bloating, and exhaustion. I’ve always loved taking photos, but I realized where my passions lie after the birth of my oldest daughter, Madeline. After I had her, I was looking through the few photos my husband had taken during the process. I realized only one photo of my pregnant (and showing) self existed, and I couldn’t remember any of what happened after she was born. I was shocked to see friends and nurses I worked with and loved in the hospital room with me in the photos. I was shocked to see, only a few days later, how much my baby had already changed. I realized that I never had an opportunity to feel beautiful during my pregnancy, and I was too exhausted to create lasting memories of the first few hours and days. I realized how important photography is, and how it can capture so much more than “just a few snapshots”.
Because of my 5 years experience working on the labor & delivery and NICU floors in a hospital, I am very familiar and comfortable with being in a variety of situations and working with a variety of “complications”. Both in the hospital and out, I am confident that we can be a team that creates beautiful memories while keeping you and your baby’s health & comfort a top priority. As a Mom, I focus on those things that should be remembered. As both a former preschool and Kindergarten teacher, I am comfortable making it fun for older siblings, and helping them to safely pose with their new baby, to incorporate the entire family into this life-changing event.
Every session I take supports a cause near and dear to my heart: Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep. Through this organization, myself and other photographers around the world are able to provide bereavement photography to families who will not be taking their babies home. Not only do you help me to be able to take on sessions, but a donation will be given from every session that I take to help support the non-profit and help more photographers be able to give this gift to families in need.
